Rolls-Royce Cullinan Keys to a New Generation of Luxury SUVs
Rolls-Royce has long produced luxury cars for the ultra-wealthy who want to drive into the sunset and explore the world in total luxury. Cullinan is the brand's newest SUV, is designed to lure wealthy customers away from their Range Rovers or Bentaygas.
Its brand new architecture, technologies and design provide an iconic look, unbeatable space and usability and unparalleled off-road and on-road capability.
Effortless All Over
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan was designed for those who view travel as a work of art and a way to live. This means that it has to be as easy off-road as it is on a highway. The new SUV from the brand, which is dubbed "the first all-terrain Rolls-Royce," brings this possibility to life. The innovative features of the vehicle are a testament to a tradition rooted in perfection and mastery.
Cullinan ignores imperfections and bumps. Its supple suspension makes the road feel like a smooth carpet.
We drove the Cullinan on gravel, mud and on paved roads that had potholes and other flaws. The car's all-wheel drive and big tires made it possible to conquer difficult terrain with ease. It also has an low-riding suspension that lifts the body above the surface to allow it to stomp over the rocks and other obstacles without damaging the bottom.
The Cullinan is equipped with a range of modern technologies to make the owner's journeys easier. The SUV comes with forward-collision warnings with automatic emergency brakes, night vision, the vision assist, a camera system to help you park or drive in tight spaces, adaptive cruise control and warnings for lane departure. It also has a WiFi hotspot, navigation, and a head-up display that is a class-leader in the industry.
The Cullinan also boasts the kind of rock-solid build quality that a shrewd buyer would expect. Every knob, switch and touchpoint feels as though it's been designed to last for a thousand years at which point it might require a bit of spit to continue working. The interior is adorned with leather, wood, and chrome. The Spirit of Ecstasy sits high above the dashboard, looking down at the passengers and driver.
While the Cullinan's cabin is filled with cutting-edge technology, it's lacking certain gadgets that younger drivers might crave. It isn't equipped with driver aids such as semi-autonomous highways and lane-keeping or the connected devices that are becoming more common in cars.
The Clasp
Cullinan is unbeatable off-road capability at the touch of an button, and is dubbed Everywhere by Rolls Royce engineers. This allows the driver to adjust the auto-leveling air suspension to absorb every bump and rut, while the prop shaft and drive shaft ensure that all 850Nm of torque is delivered to the front and rear wheels at the exact moment.
Cullinan is the first Rolls-Royce to feature a tailgate. rolls-royce keys opening in a manner similar to those of pickup trucks. It's a design element that creates a more three-box silhouette and adds to the SUV's striking appearance. It also offers access to an area for cargo that provides 21 cubic feet of space. This is with the rear seats up, with the floor positioned lower than the base of the seatbacks to help keep things from slipping around.
The main cabin of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan offers a more practical approach to luxury than what has been seen in a production Rolls-Royce car. For example, the rear passengers are higher than those in the front, meaning that they will have an unobstructed view of the world from their vehicle. The rear bench can be arranged in various ways to meet your requirements.
To complement the more functional design mirrors in the rear have been reshaped and toned down in appearance, and the Rolls-Royce badge is mounted on its own smaller plinth separated from the number plate housing with only a tiny strip of jewellery for decoration. The rear lights have a similar utilitarian look with two tall upright units that house the lights and one strip of jewelry in their central.
Beyond the obvious benefits of a more functional layout, Cullinan is the most family-friendly Rolls-Royce model to today. The rear bench can be set up for three people. The panoramic roof is standard and offers plenty of space to stretch out. Those behind the wheel can also luxuriate in the surroundings by selecting the Immersive Seating configuration, which envelops the passengers in luxurious comfort and wraps them in the finest leather. A Champagne decanter and a whisky cooler can be put in the central console to enhance the sense of luxury.
The compartment for rear passengers
The Cullinan is a Rolls-Royce that's both like and unlike any other model before it. It's big and ostentatious, but it makes the brand accessible to a new generation of potential buyers who'll drive it into places where other luxury SUVs might shy away from. These could include Jackson Hole, Wyoming where the SUV is built.
From the side the vertical lines that flow from the front doors, down through the raised bonnet edge and into the metal skid plate provide a confident sense purpose for an SUV that's ready to conquer the world. The large wheels and slender silhouette of the roofline create an impressive stance that conveys a strong and confident image.
Rolls-Royce engineers designed a unique design that blends an elegant interior with unbeatable off-road capabilities and uncompromising luxury. They have designed a car that is both practical as well as iconic.
Those seated in the rear can enjoy spectacular views of their surroundings through the vast glazed area of the industry-leading panoramic glass roof. And if they wish to locate their current position in the world they can just zero in on themselves on the rear touchscreen map.
The backs of the rear seats can fold down. This allows for an ample cargo space. A single press will allow them to fold down without compromising the seat cushion. They can be divided into a 1/3 or 2/3 configuration to increase the practicality of the vehicle.

The design of the Rolls-Royce coach doors enables passengers to exit and enter in comfort, while keeping their legs shielded from dirt. This not only allows the occupants to step aboard without getting their trousers dirty and muddy, but is also a guarantee that whatever they're carrying - such as a Mark Rothko canvas, for instance - will be secured.
Once inside, guests can toast their achievements by sipping a whisky from the bottle holder which is tucked behind the front seats. When they're ready for an afternoon nap and want to relax, they can sit in the heated and massaged rear seats, and relax with the the adjustable neck-, shoulder- and leg-rests.
The Glass Partition
With a starting price of $325,000 The Cullinan is unlike any other vehicle to roll out of Rolls-Royce's Goodwood factory in its 114-year history. It's not only that it comes with an all-wheel drive system, a button labeled "Off Road," and a ride height that can be adjusted. (Rolls-Royce is a company with a long tradition of vehicles for overland travel that date back to T.E. Lawrence's 1914 armoured vehicle). This SUV was designed to be an ideal vehicle for families that is meant to be driven and not left with a chauffeur.
That means it's the first SUV to offer a rear passenger compartment that can hold three people in comfort and still allow space for luggage and other gear. It has a variety of options for seating, including back-seat massage chairs. The center console can also be equipped with a champagne cooler as well as two Rolls-Royce champagne flutes or a whisky decanter.
However, it's the Spirit of Ecstasy that really makes this Rolls-Royce in a class of its own in comparison to the Range Rovers and Bentaygas that have been vying for ultra-wealthy buyers' attention lately. The hood ornament is a constant reminder that the Cullinan is not your average SUV.
I'm also impressed by the level of restraint Rolls-Royce has demonstrated in its cabin. While some companies are splattering their cabins with ever more layers of technology however, the Cullinan has a clean and simple display at the top of the center stack that is similar to traditional gauges.
Box-grain leather is one the most noticeable changes to the previous Rolls-Royce models. This type of leather is created by pressing a metal frame into the hide and then by lacquering. The result is an inky black finish that is more durable than the smooth leather that is used in other high-end vehicles.
The Cullinan is an SUV that has all the features that make them so popular. It does have some drawbacks. It's most importantly is that it's a ridiculous amount of money to invest on an SUV, not even one that is as luxurious as this. If you want to buy a Cullinan you'll probably need to sell some pieces of art, or even skip your summer vacation in Nice.
